Keep Walking

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
We see from this scripture that from the moment we have been born again we have a command to walk in the new life we have received. There are no half-hearted opinions about this matter. We must simply obey the will of God and that is to walk in Him! Walk on in the new life He has given you. Live in the new life He has provided for you. You are not to be held down by your old life of sin and death but to continue in the wonderful newness of life and power you now possess.
The very mention of the word “walk” invokes the idea of action. Which is what I believe the Holy Ghost conveys to us what the Christian life is: an active Christian life. One that walks in a certain direction. Not wondering around aimlessly but of certainty and purpose. I have been told that if one of our limbs were to be tied down and rendered motionless and static, strength would be lost in that limb which would lead to it being inoperable. How true for the Christian who begins to walk at the outset of his or her new life but is stopped by a hindering force that chokes out that life. Ultimately rendering them inoperable.
This is why Paul instructs young Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:14,
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.
Continue in that which you started in. This is what rings in my spirit for you today, “Keep Walking”. Continue in the things that God started in your life. I know this month is associated with love but this is also the month when the new things we started out with such fervor in January begin to wane. We may have started the year with a renewed determination to walk closer to the Lord or maybe a victory was won over a spiritual hindrance, but with the passage of days and weeks, the old life pulls at our hearts. The spiritual walk we had has become slower and the temptation is to stop altogether. The Spirit says today, “Keep Walking!”
For we are not just walking with the Lord we are walking to the Lord. The end of our walk here on earth with the Lord will lead to us forever walking with Him in eternal glory.
Revelation 3:4
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments, and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
Saints, keep walking in all that the Lord has given to you. Keep walking in the victory He has afforded you. Keep walking in the power of His might. Just keep walking.
